If you want to take an adventure travel that took place within a few days to fill a long weekend vacation, backpacking adventure travel may become an exciting choice. This type of adventure travel is usually easier to plan and will give you a nice break away from your everyday routine. Before you begin, you must plan how long you are traveling.

If you plan on being gone for one single day, a daypack would satiate, but if you plan on going on a multi-day adventure travel, you would need to go for backpacking. With both these types, you would have to keep in mind a few more things. For example, the backpack for your backpacking adventure travel should come with sturdy shoulder straps. In addition to that, your backpack should also have enough padding and curves. This helps to keep your collarbone safe otherwise it would chaff it.

Another thing that must be understood with backpacking is having good zips. The zips should be strong and durable. And to make things easier for you, always try to opt for zips of the larger size. These types are always more reliable. Your backpack should also come with a good waist strap. And why is that essential for you? For the simple reason that it takes much of the weight off your shoulders and as such your shoulder would not get tired easily.

And the last thing that should be kept in mind before choosing your backpacking adventure travel is that the material of the backpack must be of the highest quality. You should not compromise on quality just because of cost. The consequences could be very problematic. Just imagine what could happen if the backpack gave out in the middle of your adventure travel.

So, you have got yourself a decent backpack for your backpacking adventure travel. Now the next thing would surely be getting an idea of the things that you ought to be keeping in your backpack. The very first thing that you should always keep in mind is that never in any case forget to take the maximum possible amount of water with you. You should also not forget to maintain sufficient amount of iodine tablets with you to treat the water you get while on your adventure. It is not possible to carry all the water that you would need during your travel and you are bound to use water from outside, and as such, iodine tablets are a must.

You will also need to transport food with you. If you pack each of your meals separately, you can save a great deal of space and you would be taking just enough food that you will need. In addition, you will also need to take some clothes. If you are planning a multi-day backpacking adventure travel, you have to take enough clothes with you to regular changes. You should also bring a good pair of shoes and do not forget a sleeping back and/or a tent.

Keep in mind that your preparation will greatly depend on the location you choose for your adventure travel, the type of terrain and the weather conditions for that area. Be sure to perform as much research as possible before you leave for your backpacking adventure travel to ensure you will an exciting and memorable experience.

Are you interested in traveling to the Caribbean? You should try the Caribbean cruise vacation.Traveling with cruise ships to the Caribbean, you will get a really nice vacation and could not be forgotten.

The Journey

Cruising to your wonderful destination is the most comfortable way to travel around the world. You can relax in your very own room and have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy service not like any other. You just have to chill down as the ship glides through the waves. The staff is always ready to attend to you or your family’s every whim, and gives you a view on a life that is not close to normal life in the real world.

The journey to the Caribbean is to-die-for. So think about the overwhelming feeling you get when you finally get there. Just imagine that sparkling water of the color aqua and the wonderfully colored fishes swimming in it. The coral reefs are huge and you can actually see a school of fish traveling from a group of corals to another.

The Destination

Now think of the fine white sand under your feet as you finally step foot on the Caribbean island. Sunbathing is definitely the number one thought that comes to you. As you sunbathe, you have a nice view of the clear blue sky, with the sun’s heat on your skin. For sure, you will have that sun-kissed tan you have long been waiting for. Nature never fails to overwhelm you with the tall palm trees near the shore, with endangered tropical feathered-friends chirping everywhere. The sound of the waves hitting the shore will definitely lull you to sleep.

A Caribbean cruise vacation is definitely the most popular and the most worthy cruise vacation there is. In other islands, you need to imagine having the slightest feeling of a tropical wonder. But in the Caribbean, you need not imagine for your vacation dreams will really come true!

With a Caribbean cruise vacation, you can get to enjoy hundreds, if not thousands, of islands that are at the borderline to perfection. There are different resorts you can choose from, each offering the best quality for their customers, only with different themes. Actually, the cruise ship itself is like a resort. Think of you chosen cruise ship as a floating hotel that will take you to various islands with no need for various travel arrangements.

Everybody can have fun in the Caribbean. With the word “everybody”, what is meant is totally every person from each age group. A Caribbean cruise vacation provides you with a slate of different activities and opportunities to relax. There are many activities you can choose from, ranging from ones that are not strenuous and ones that require warming up.

You can get to experience an enjoyable island hopping not like any other, with your every desire granted by the accommodating crew. You have enough time to absorb the beauty of each island you make a stop on as you go island-hopping. The local atmosphere is overwhelming and a fifteen-minute introduction to the island’s culture is a gift before you move on to the next island. All these just by having one enjoyable Caribbean cruise vacation.

Many medical experts have found that air travelers usually experience a worse bout of jet lag when they fly from east to west. In general, the more time zones that they cross, flying from east to west, the more severe their symptoms of jet lag will be. However, passengers will only experience a milder problem with jet lag when their air flights are going from west to east.

Travelers can fly north and south, or south to north, for thousands of miles without experiencing any jet lag. But as soon as the pilot of the airplane starts to fly in an east to west direction and crosses more than one or two time zones, they can experience jet lag.

Passengers will not usually experience the symptoms of jet lag until they exit the plane. That’s the time when their biological clocks will start to make internal adjustments inside their bodies to coincide more closely with the local time at their destination. If air travelers cross one, or even two time zones, their bodies can usually adjust very quickly. However, if a traveler is in poor health or not feeling well before the flight, jet lag can compound the problem.

The following information may lessen the effects of jet lag when you fly.

Try to catch a flight that arrives at your vacation destination in daylight hours. Immediately fit in with the new time zone and do not go to bed. If you feel tired and want to take a short snooze, do it in a well lighted place.

In the evening, when your tired, go to sleep in a darkened room. The darkness will help prepare your brain for sleep.

Try to avoid looking at television or computer screens as they are bright and have high frequencies that can easily over-stimulate your brain.

Do not consume alcohol or any drinks such as coffee and soda that contain caffeine until your symptoms of jet lag wear off, as it can disrupt your sleep.

Are you looking for a vacation destination for an upcoming trip? If you are, you should examine Hawaii. Hawaii vacations are popular and their popularity continues to increase. There are good reasons for that. In fact, five reasons why you should plan a Hawaii vacation are outlined below.

1 – Affordability

The cost of travel can seem quite high today, especially with the high cost of gasoline. In fact, many individuals are putting off their summer vacation plans. With that said, many travelers are surprised to learn just how affordable it is to vacation on a beautiful Hawaiian island. With a small amount of time and research, you can easily find amazing Hawaii travel deals and discounts.

As for how you can find great travel deals and discounts, examine online travel websites. They are ideal for comparing the rates of airline tickets, hotel reservations, and car rentals. When using a travel website, be sure to examine vacation packages. They are convenient to book and you are often rewarded with a small, but helpful, discount. It is also a good idea to visit the websites of Hawaii hotels and airlines directly, as some are known for offering moneysaving discounts directly to consumers.

2 – Beauty

If you have never visited Hawaii before, the beauty of the land will likely leave you breathless. In addition to vacations, did you also know that Hawaii is a great place to get married? Hawaii destination weddings are just as popular and that is due in part to the beauty of Hawaii.

The beauty of the land is great for travelers who are unable to decide on a destination, as there is so much for you to do and see. It is hard to find a destination like Hawaii where you can relax in a tropical climate, swim in the ocean, hike to see beautiful waterfalls, and explore volcanoes.

3 – Activities

As previously stated, all of the Hawaiian Islands are home to a vast array of landscaping. This opens up a world of opportunities for you and your traveling party, in terms of Hawaii activities. It is also great for families who members all have different likes and dislikes. Whether you enjoy staying on land, being on the water, or being in the air, there is so much for you to do and see while on a Hawaii vacation.

As for beach activities, swimming, boating, fishing, dinner cruises, surfing, body boarding, and scuba diving are popular. Popular land activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, and sightseeing. Hawaii can also be explored by the air and the perfect way to do is with a private Hawaii helicopter tour.

4 – Attractions

If the above mentioned Hawaii activities weren’t enough to keep you occupied on your trip, the large number of attractions in the area will. Regardless of which Hawaiian Island you choose to visit, there are so many wondering, beautiful, amazing, and historical sites for you to visit. One of the most popular Hawaii attractions is that of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is located on Big Island. Kauai, Molokai, Maui, Oahu, and Lanai all have their must see attractions as well.

5 – Travel Reasons

Perhaps, the greatest reason why you should consider taking a Hawaii vacation is because of your reasons for doing so. Although you do not need a reason to travel to Hawaii, any reason will do. Hawaii is the perfect destination for family vacations, romantic getaways, and trips with a group of friends. You will also find that many Hawaii activities and attractions are designed for individuals of all ages, which is nice if you are planning a family vacation.

As you can see, Hawaii is the perfect vacation destination. With a number of beautiful islands to choose from, a number of travel deals and discounts, and large number of Hawaii activities and attractions, what more could you ask for? What are you waiting for? Book your Hawaii trip today!

Eiffel Towel History
The Eiffel Tower, an immense structure of exposed latticework supports made of puddle iron, was erected for the Paris Exposition of 1889. The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII of England) officiated at the ceremonial opening. Of the 700 proposals submitted in a design competition, one was unanimously chosen, a radical creation from the French structural engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (b. Dec. 15, 1832, d. Dec. 28, 1923), who was assisted in the design by engineers Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier, and architect Stephen Sauvestre.

However, the controversial tower elicited some strong reactions, and a petition of 300 names — including those of Guy de Maupassant, Émile Zola, Charles Garnier (architect of the Opéra Garnier), and Alexandre Dumas fils — was presented to the city government, protesting its construction. The petition read, “We, the writers, painters, sculptors, architects and lovers of the beauty of Paris, do protest with all our vigour and all our indignation, in the name of French taste and endangered French art and history, against the useless and monstrous Eiffel Tower.”

Nature lovers thought that it would interfere with the flight of birds over Paris. But the Eiffel Tower was admired by Rousseau, Utrillo, Chagall, and Delaunay. It was almost torn down in 1909 at the expiration of its 20-year lease, but was saved because of its antenna — used for telegraphy at that time. Beginning in 1910 it became part of the International Time Service. French radio (since 1918), and French television (since 1957) have also made use of its stature. In the 1960s, it was the subject of a wonderful study by semiologist Roland Barthes.

Built to celebrate the science and engineering achievements of its age, soaring 300m / 984 ft. (320.75m / 1,052 ft. including antenna) and weighing 7000 tons, the structure consists of two visibly distinct parts: a base composed of a platform resting on four separate supports (called pylons or bents) and, above this, a slender tower created as the bents taper upward, rising above a second platform to merge in a unified column.

This unprecedented work, the tallest structure in the world until the Empire State Building was built about 40 years later, had several antecedents. Among them were the iron-supported railway viaducts designed by Eiffel, an arch bridge over the Douro River in Portugal with a span of 160 m (525 ft), and a design for a circular, iron-frame tower proposed by the American engineers Clarke and Reeves for the Centennial Exposition of 1876. Eiffel knew and publicly acknowledged this influence; he was no stranger to the United States, having designed the wrought-iron pylon inside Frederic Bartholdi’s Statue of Liberty in 1885. Later in the same year, he had also begun work on the cupola of the Nice observatory.

Eiffel was the leading European authority on the aerodynamics of high frames (he wrote “The Resistance of the Air” in 1913). In the construction of the Eiffel Tower, the curve of the base pylons was precisely calculated so that the bending and shearing forces of the wind were progressively transformed into forces of compression, which the bents could withstand more effectively. Such was Eiffel’s engineering wizardry that even in the strongest winds his tower never sways more than 4-1/2 inches. The superskyscrapers erected since 1960, such as the World Trade Center, were constructed in much the same way.

However difficult its birth may have been, the Tour Eiffel is now completely accepted by French citizens, and is internationally recognized as one of the symbols of Paris itself.
Facilities and Views
In the basements of the eastern and western pillars, one can visit the gargantuan 1899 machinery which powers the elevators, an astonishing spectacle reminiscent of a Jules Verne novel. From the Tower’s three platforms — especially the topmost — the view of Paris is superb. It is generally agreed that one hour before sunset, the panorama is at its best; don’t forget to bring your camera, and experiment with the f-stop settings to capture a dazzling sunset on the Seine. If you can’t be there in person, then check out a Live Aerial View of Paris with TF1′s webcam online: from the top of the Eiffel Tower, you can see Paris in real time, 24 hours a day, whatever the weather conditions in the French capital. To get the most out of this view of Paris, we suggest you surf their web site between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM GMT (1:00 AM and 3:00 PM Eastern Time in the U.S.), when the City of Light is at its best.

First level: 57.63 meters (189 feet). Observatory from which to study the movements of the Eiffel Tower’s summit. Kiosk presentation about the mythic painting of the Eiffel Tower. Space CINEIFFEL: offers an exceptional panorama of sights from the Tower. Souvenir shops (yes, every tourist MUST have a miniature replica). Restaurant “Altitude 95″ (phone 01-45-55-20-04). Post office, with special stamps “Paris Eiffel Tower “. Panoramic gallery displaying the Monuments of Paris.

Second level: 115.73 meters (379 feet, 8 inches). Panorama of Paris. Telescopes, shops. Animated displays on the operation of the elevators. Jules Verne Restaurant (extremely expensive, reservations absolutely necessary; phone 01-45-55-61-44).

Third level: 276.13 meters (905 feet, 11 inches). Exceptional panoramic views, day or night, of Paris and its surroundings. Recently restored office, featuring wax reproductions of Gustave Eiffel and Thomas Edison in conversation (see photo. Panoramic guide displays to aid orientation. Dioramas presenting the history of this platform.

Probably the best approach to the tower is to take the Métro to the Trocadéro station and walk from the Palais de Chaillot to the Seine. Besides fabulous views, especially when the Trocadéro fountains are in full force, you get a free show from the dancers and acrobats who perform around the Palais de Chaillot. The vast green esplanade beneath the tower is the Parc du Champs-de-Mars, which extends all the way to the 18th-century École Militaire (Military Academy), at its southeast end. This formal lawn was once a parade ground for French troops.

The Eiffel Tower at night is one of the great sights of Paris and shouldn’t be missed. The gold lighting highlights the delicacy of the steelwork in a way that is missed in daylight. Skip the tour buses and pickpockets on Trocadéro and head up to the École Militaire for a more tranquil view.

There is a big difference between traveling with an adult and traveling with children. Even if you have toddlers or an infant with you, it is a special specification that adults accompanying their children must observe safety first when traveling. There are numerous ways to make traveling for you and your child safer. Here are seven:

1. Maintain seatbelts or restraints at all times. Naughtiness can become one reason for your child to get hurt and cause one to another. Your child can move all he want as long as his seatbelt or restraint are firmly attached to their bodies. Furthermore, turbulence can go without warning.

2. Keep your child’s essentials inside your hand carry bag. You can survive every ounce of tantrums when you keep in your bag a handful of useful merchandise like diapers, food and medicine. If you have an infant, you can bring in two bottles of milk.

3. Position you child away from the aisle. It would be more appropriate to sit him in between two adults. If you don’t like being seated along the aisle, for your child’s sake, sacrifice. Children love exploring and reaching out things. They can get hurt unknowingly when their little arms and hands get bumped by walking people or by the serving cart. You can also sit him at one corner beside the windows.

4. Bring toys. Make sure these are not deadly ones. Toys can serve as perfect modalities to catch your child’s attention and refrain him or her from making unnecessary noises and activities. Never bring toys that can hurt, easily break or is heavy. Electronic games can only be used while the plane is cruising.

5. Control your child. It is your responsibility to control your child’s behavior while inside the plane. The flight attendant is never responsible for the supervision of your child. You don’t pay them to become baby sitters. As much as possible, don’t fall asleep during the flight. Children take this opportunity to wander around the plane and eventually get lost. You also have to be careful when walking around the plane with your child for he might reach hot cups of coffee or silverware.

6. Upon the deployment of oxygen masks, put yours first. Contrary to what most parents would think, it is much advisable to put an adult’s mask first before their child. Why? for practical reasons. There would be a greater chance of saving both your lives than just your child’s. If the adult puts the oxygen mask on their children first, it will take only few seconds for hypoxia to come over wherein episodes of confusion or passing out will happen. A child, especially smaller ones, will be of no help once you pass out. This is one very good reason why you must put on the mask first.

7. Always be prepared for the possibility of emergencies. Be aware of the procedures that can be appropriate for your child. First, ask the flight attendant if they have emergency equipments that are designed especially for children. Next, be familiar with the preflight briefing.
Antoine Bourdelle was a well-known French teacher and sculptor. Located in the 15th Arrondissement and at 18 Rue Antoine Bourdelle, you will find the Musee Bourdelle.
Today, Paris is often referred to as the fashion capital of world, but do you know the role fashion played in its history? You can find out at the Musee Galliera. Construction of the palace housing the Musee Galliera was ordered by the Duchess of Galliera. It has been a fashion museum since 1977.

When visiting the Musee Galliera, you will find temporary and permanent exhibits. These exhibits are separated into the categories of graphic arts, underclothes, accessories, and costumes.
The Carnavalet Museum is a large museum that is dedicated to Paris and its history. The museum is housed in two buildings, including the Hotel Carnavalet and the Hotel Peletier. The history of Paris from prehistoric times is told through the use of sculptures, furniture, architecture, scale models, and paintings.

For a true and firsthand look at the history of Paris, step outside into the Catacombs. The ancient tunnels were dug when the construction of Paris began in early times. Later, they were used to house the remains of up to seven million deceased. This was due in part to the shut down of cemeteries in Paris. According to the official website for the City of Paris, this occurred in the 19th century.

The Museum d’Art Moderne was constructed in 1937 for the International Art Exposition. In the early 1960s it was converted into an art museum. There are over 8,000 works of art present. Most works of art are from the 20th century, when art became more “trendy.”

This museum is considered a must visit for art enthusiasts, as well as those who want a break from the ancient wonders of Paris.

When you hear Austria, you almost immediately think about culture and winter sports. This are the perfect words to describe this attractive country. Austria is a mountainous country geographically located in Central Europe, this country surrounded by Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Liechtenstein. Austria is also known for its rich cultural heritage. This could be seen on the pride that the locals have for its brilliant palaces and buildings, their love for the Waltz and their homage to the classical composer and child prodigy Mozart. Whether you are traveling to Austria alone, with friends or with your family, here are just some helpful tips to make you get the most out of your trip to this magnificent country.

Once you travel to Austria, start your travel unraveling the beauty of the Alps Mountains. These mountains are world popular for their unmatched serene beauty and that is why they are referred as eye soothers. Hiring a car and driving in Austria will also make it easier for you and your family to vary your holiday activities. For instance, if you’re in Austria primarily on a skiing holiday, hiring a car will also make it possible for you to drive to nearby hiking trails or go rock climbing. Alternatively, you could drive to one of Austria’s main cities, like Vienna, Innsbruck or Salzburg, and take pleasure in the range of musical, theatrical or artistic offerings in Austria’s centres of culture.

Austria travel endows the visitors with a magical experience, with the snow-capped mountains, its slopes, the Apres-Ski and the Austrian “Gemuetlichkeit”. Of the Austrian tourist industry, the winter sports tourism is now a billion euro industry, with many of the cities becoming flourishing tourist spots. Skiing of the many winter sports is the most popular and Austria has a very high number of ski resorts catering to the needs of the tourists.Hohe Tauern National Park is another popular tourist destination. You can travel up to the site by car. It covers an area of about 1786 sq km and is one of the largest in Europe. Austria’s highest mountain Grossglockner lies in the heart of this protected sanctuary of flora and fauna. Even the road through the park can be said to be most beautiful in the world.

A visit to the mountains of Austria is something you will never forget. Innsbruck is the center of a large skiing area throughout the Tirol region, and is guaranteed to warm the heart of any mountain and snow enthusiast. The best ski season is from Christmas to late February, with good snow available on either side of those months. If you want to see the glory of the mountains in the warmth of summer, then visit in May or June. It will certainly be a lot quieter then.Visiting Austria for a day or two during a whistle stop tour of Europe really doesn’t do it justice. Although I’ve mentioned a few highlights, there are so many more wonderful places to visit if you really want to get a true feeling for this stunning country.

Travel by train is one of the most exciting and fun to travel. But if you do not learn basic information about travel by train – maybe you’ll find a problem that potentially eliminate your travel pleasure.

Below are some tips to help you get the most out of your train trip.

Unlike other types of travel, keep in mind that you will not be able to just stop along the way at a convenient ATM and get extra cash if you need it. Therefore, it’s a good idea to make sure that when you travel by train you bring along enough cash for your trip as well as a little extra for emergencies.

Anyone who travels by train frequently will tell you that as enjoyable as a train trip can be; the one big problem that you’ll frequently run into relates to food and water supply. Just like there are no ATMs conveniently located along the way, it can be difficult for a train to stop and stock up on supplies. So, to avoid problems it’s a good idea to bring along your own snacks as well as some bottled water to sip on.

Likewise it’s a good idea to bring along your own toiletry items such as toilet tissue, soap and paper towel. Frequent train travelers commonly find that these items are in short supply. Avoid an uncomfortable by situation by tending to your own needs and stashing these items in your bag when you pack

for your trip.

If you have a special fondness for your own pillow; it might not be a bad idea to bring it along with you on your trip. While most people remember to do this when traveling to stay in a hotel, few think of it when planning to travel by train. It can mean the difference between a good night’s sleep and waking up with a stiff neck.

One of the best benefits of travel by train is that you get an opportunity to view beautiful landscapes and scenic locales from the window of your train car. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, keep this in mind when you’re booking your train trip. Otherwise you might just be passing through that beautiful scenery in the middle of the night and completely miss out on it.

Anticipate the fact that when you travel by train you will be making one or more stops at various stations along the way. These stops won’t give you much of an opportunity to stock up on anything or even visit an ATM as previously mentioned, but it is a good chance to get out and stretch your legs. Just make sure that you are always cognizant of how long the stop will be and keep one eye trained on your train so that you don’t get left behind.

With a little preparation and forethought your plans to travel by train will be gliding along smoothly in no time.
